Lifecare’s Better Together Mara Medical Camp 2025
Lifecare International hosted its 6th annual Better Together Mara Medical Camp on June 2nd and 3rd , 2025, an impactful healthcare initiative benefitting the communities in and around the Maasai Mara. Lifecare endeavoured to enhance the community’s health and wellbeing with free medical treatment, surgeries, and medication, conducted at Oloolaimutia Medical Centrer in Narok West.
In 2025 alone, we were able to treat 4,157 patients, bringing our total reach to over 16,500 individuals since the camp’s inception. With the incredible support of our sponsors and medical partners, the camp delivered a wide range of essential services—including GP consultations, paediatrics, gynaecology, diabetes and hypertension management, ENT services, ECGs, optical and dental care, breast cancer screenings, and more. There were more than 500 optical procedures, 64 tumour removals, 73 cataracts extractions, 240 dental procedures, 2 cleft lip repairs, and 10 hospital referrals.
Beyond medical care, the camp also enabled substantial donations to the local communities, reflecting our ongoing mission to increase impact year after year. Embracing a sustainability-focused approach, we sought to convert much of the single-use plastic waste into eco-friendly building materials through a partner who builds hotel rooms in the Maasai Mara using recycled plastics.
The Better Together Mara Medical Camp was attended by Narok County Governor, H.E. Patrick Ole Ntutu, who commended Lifecare’s continued efforts in collaborating with sponsors and medical partners to deliver the much-needed health and wellbeing to the communities.
“Lifecare International continues to be a pillar of hope for the Maasai community. Their provision of free, high-quality healthcare services combined with access to clean water and sustainable development has transformed lives across the Mara. We remain deeply grateful for their enduring commitment.“

The sixth edition of Lifecare’s Better Together Mara Medical Camp was made possible through key sponsors. Prominent international medical insurance providers—Allianz Partners, Bupa Foundation, and Cigna—came together once again with a shared mission to enhance the health and wellbeing of underserved communities. Further key sponsors came from the healthcare industry and beyond, including Tipilikwani, Action in Focus, Emica Executive Coaching & Healthcare Consulting, and King’s College Hospital London Dubai, along with dedicated medical partners Taiba, Cheps, Aga Khan Hospital, and HealthX Africa.
Previous camps highlighted that around 70% of ailments treated stemmed from waterborne diseases, which led to establishing clean water projects in order to address the root cause and achieve sustainable health outcomes. 3 boreholes have been delivered to date, with more underway.

Testimonials on the Mara Medical Camp
“We are truly honoured to be part of Lifecare International’s Mara Medical camp again this year. The impact of past camps has been profound, providing essential medical services to thousands of individuals who would otherwise lack access to healthcare. This year’s camp promises to build on that legacy, offering vital health screenings, operations, and education to the local community. The continued success of the camp is a testament to the organisers, volunteers, and medical professionals who make it possible. The dedication and hard work shown is truly inspiring, and we are proud to offer our support. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of this community.”
Ida Luka
“A very humbling experience and I felt privileged to have been able to help such a worthy cause and see the impact that we had first hand. A team of volunteers came together many not having met before and many newbies at this (of which I was one) and worked with the common goal of helping provide healthcare to 4,157 people who would otherwise not have received it, and as tiring as it was the satisfaction was greater and want to do it again even more.”
